Adjudication Guidelines
Contestants are adjudicated and ranked using the following criteria:
- Technical skills: Note accuracy, intonation
- Technical skills: Tempo and pulse
- Technical skills: Accuracy in dynamics, phrasing, etc.
- Technical skills: Accuracy of words, good and clear diction, breath control.
- Musicality: Ability to interpret music beyond the requirements of the score - imaginative dynamics, phrasing, timing, etc.
- Stage presence: Appropriate attire, walks and sits elegantly, reverence for the audience or adjudicators. You are asked to please announce your piece to the judges before you play.
- Repertoire: Does the work highlight the musician’s strengths well?

Medals
You will be judged in two ways. One is based solely upon your own performance which will take into consideration the contestants age and the number of years of study. For this you will receive a gold, silver or bronze medal.

Trophies for Category Placement
You will also be judged against the other contestants in your category (beginner, novice, etc.) and your age range. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will received a trophy and those ranked 4th place and after will receive a medal.

Judge's Choice Award
An outstanding soloist of the day award will go to one pianist, one vocalist and one instrumentalist. This is a judges choice award.
